City of Carbondale to resume normal water, sewer delinquency procedures

FOX23 News at 9 p.m

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — The City of Carbondale has resumed normal water and sewer delinquency processes following a temporary suspension during January’s extreme winter weather.

City officials said non-emergency water and sewer disconnects were paused last month, and no late fees or penalties were assessed as the area experienced severe winter storms and prolonged low temperatures.

With weather conditions improving, the city’s Water Office announced that standard delinquency procedures will resume Monday, Feb. 8.

Customers who may be affected are encouraged to review their account status promptly.

Utility payments may be made online through the city’s official website, via a secure drop box located at Carbondale City Hall at 200 S. Illinois Ave., or in person at the Water Office inside City Hall during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Residents with questions about their water bill may contact the Water Office at 618-457-3265.
