City of Jackson and Cape Girardeau Firefighters Assoc. secure first-ever contract with the city

JACKSON, Mo. (KBSI) — The City of Jackson and the Cape Girardeau Firefighters Association Local 1084 have reached an agreement on the first-ever contract for Jackson firefighters.
Officials said the agreement marks a milestone for the city and follows months of negotiations between city leaders and firefighter representatives. The contract establishes terms related to working conditions, compensation and support for members of Jackson Fire & Rescue.
Local 1084 represents firefighters serving Cape Girardeau, Jackson and Fruitland, advocating for safety, professional standards and employee well-being.
Union officials and city leaders said the agreement reflects a commitment to strengthening public safety and supporting firefighters in the community.
Both sides said they plan to continue working together to build on the partnership moving forward.
