JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — The City of Jackson has announced plans for a roadway lighting improvement project along a portion of East Jackson Boulevard.
The project will add new roadway lighting along East Jackson Boulevard from Hilltop Drive to Old Orchard Road, an area that currently has limited dedicated lighting. City officials said the goal is to improve visibility and safety for motorists.
Construction could begin as early as summer 2026, with completion anticipated by the end of December 2026. During construction, drivers should expect temporary and moving lane closures as work progresses along the corridor.
The project, identified as MoDOT Project No. SE0247, will be funded through a 50% cost-share agreement with the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission under the Federal Highway Administration cost-share program.
