City of Jackson announces storm sewer replacement

JACKSON, Mo. (KBSI) – The City of Jackson has announced that Putz Construction will begin an emergency storm sewer replacement project on Otto Drive on June 8.
A portion of the 800 block of Otto Drive will be closed to traffic for repairs,
The project comes following the collapse of a storm sewer pipe that created a large sinkhole beneath the roadway.
According to the city the emergency repair project will replace approximately 185 feet of storm sewer pipe and
restore the structural of the roadway and drainage system.
Construction is estimated to last through June 19, weather and site conditions permitting.
Temporary road closures will be necessary throughout the project to protect motorists and construction crews while repairs are completed.
Old Cape Road at Otto Drive will be closed for several days at the beginning of the project. As work progresses, a portion of the 800 block of Otto Drive will also be closed to traffic. The timing and duration of these closures may vary depending on construction progress.
The city says they understands the inconvenience these closures may cause and appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation while this important work is complete and residents and motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes, obey all traffic control devices, and exercise caution when traveling near the construction area
