Classes canceled Friday at New Madrid County R-I School District

NEW MADRID COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – New Madrid County R-I School District canceled classes for Friday, January 12.

The school closing Friday is due to several reasons including power outages throughout the county including New Madrid Elementary.

Causes of the outages have not yet been identified, according to the New Madrid Police Department.

The area is expecting high wind gusts of 50-60 miles per hour beginning midday and a risk of potential flooding.
