Coal miner’s death under federal investigation

(KBSI) – A federal investigation us underway into the death of a coal miner in southern Illinois.

This happened over the weekend at the Hamilton County Coal Facility.

According to the mine safety and Health Administration, the man was killed by the collapse of surrounding material.

Later that night, emergency crews were called to the mine to battle a fire, and multiple workers were taken to the hospital in that incident.
