Cold, Windy Weekend Ahead Following Friday Snowfall

Snow accumulations going into the overnight hours show most of the viewing area ranging between 4-8″ of snowfall on Friday. The National Weather Service has CANCELED the WINTER STORM WARNING for our viewing area, which was originally set to expire at midnight.

Low temperatures tonight will drop into the lower 20s for most, be sure to watch out for slick spots on any untreated roads if you have any necessary travel plans.

Forecast high temperatures for the area will reach the freezing point and a few spots could jump into the middle 30s. Highs for tomorrow are expected to be 10 degrees below average for this time of year.

For Cape Girardeau, we will see temperatures in the low to mid 20s during the morning hours before topping out in the low 30s Saturday afternoon. Road conditions will continue to be slick, especially tomorrow morning.

Windy conditions come into the area on Sunday before we see another cold blast of air in the early part of next week. The snow should start to melt in the back half of the week, with high temperatures in the 40s on Thursday and Friday.
