College student arrested for rape allegations

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – A 22-year-old faces charges of rape after he was arrested yesterday, Wednesday September 11.
According to documents Sacorie T Burgess of St. Louis was arrested by SEMO DPS regarding an investigation that started in August.
Documents state that on Sunday August 18, 2024, Burgess engaged in sexual intercourse with a female victim through forcible compulsion.
The incident happened on SEMO campus in Burgesses room.
In an interview Burgess stated he knew the sexual activity was not consensual and expressed feelings of guilt stating, “he felt like a rapist.”
Sacorie T Burgess faces charges of rape/attempted rape- first degree.
He is being held in Cape County Detention Center with a $50,000 bond.
