Commercial structure fire in Scott County area

MOREHOUSE, Mo., (KBSI) — Firefighters responded to a commercial structure fire at the intersection of Highway Z and Highway Y on March 26, arriving around 8:04 p.m. to find the building fully engulfed in flames.

The fire threatened to spread to an adjacent structure, but units from Morehouse Fire Rescue and several mutual aid departments were able to contain the blaze.

Assisting departments included Sikeston Department of Public Safety, Scott County Rural Fire Protection District, Essex Fire Department, Oran Fire Department, City of Miner Fire Department, NBC Fire Protection District, South Scott County Ambulance District, Advance Fire Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Scott County Sheriff’s Office, and the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s office.

The cause of the fire has not been released.
