Community Counseling Center to host family mental health workshop in Jackson

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) – Community Counseling Center is recognizing Mental Health Awareness Month in May by encouraging residents to focus on connection, conversation and care.
The organization also announced its first “Families Thriving Together” workshop, scheduled for June 23 at the Jackson Civic Center.
The event is designed for teens ages 13 to 17 and their parents or caregivers and will focus on topics including social media’s impact on mental health, teen anxiety and parenting in a digital environment. Organizers said the workshop will include interactive activities aimed at strengthening family relationships.
The workshop will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is limited to 50 teen participants. Parent or caregiver attendance is required.
Officials said the initiative is part of broader efforts to promote mental health awareness and provide resources to families.
