Community rallies to support Wayne County after devastating storm

WAYNE COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — A devastating storm has left Wayne County reeling, with widespread destruction, multiple injuries and fatalities, and an extended power outage.

Wayne County Sheriff Kyle Shearrer reached out for assistance, requesting food resources to support the affected community.

In response, Fredericktown Police Chief Eric Hovis and local officials are coordinating relief efforts.

Walmart and the local food pantry have already pledged to donate non-perishable items.

A collection point has been set up at the Sheriff’s Office, where donations can be dropped off.

Chief Hovis and others plan to deliver a load of donated items to Wayne County this afternoon.
