Congressional leaders to participate in U.S. Semiquincentennial time capsule dedication

WASHINGTON, D.C., (KBSI) — Congressional leaders will gather on Capitol Hill Wednesday afternoon for a ceremony marking the dedication of a congressional time capsule as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration.
The Semiquincentennial Congressional Time Capsule Dedication is scheduled for 3 p.m. Eastern and will feature bipartisan participation from members of Congress.
Participants are expected to include House Speaker Mike Johnson, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito and U.S. Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman.
The event is part of ongoing efforts to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, which will be celebrated in 2026.
The ceremony will take place on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
