DU QUOIN, Ill., (KBSI) — The 34th annual Conservation Fair will bring students to the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds for two days of hands-on environmental education.
The event, scheduled for Sept. 29-30, is designed for students in kindergarten through fourth grade.
Volunteer-led stations will cover soil health, water quality, wildlife, forestry, pollinators, agriculture, rocks and minerals, wind and other natural-resource topics.
Area Soil and Water Conservation Districts have helped provide conservation education to Illinois students through the event for more than three decades.
More than 1,200 students and 80 volunteers participated in the Conservation Fair in 2025.
