PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Construction on a new picnic shelter at Albert Jones Park in Paducah is set to begin Tuesday.
According to the City of Paducah, a contractor working for the Parks and Recreation Department is expected to take about seven days to complete the project, weather permitting.
The new shelter will include two picnic tables with seating for up to 16 people.
Albert Jones Park will remain open during construction, but visitors are asked to stay away from the area where crews are working.
The project follows other improvements made at the park earlier this summer, when crews widened and extended its walking path.
Albert Jones Park is located at 855 Joe Bryan Drive, northeast of Brooks Stadium, on the former site of Henry Clay Elementary School.
