Court doc: Hayti man accused of child molestation

HAYTI, Mo. (KBSI) – A Hayti man is accused of child molestation. His mother is accused of hindering prosecution.
Jacob Uryan Matthew Myers, 23, of Hayti faces a charge of sodomy or attempted sodomy – 1st degree – victim is less than 12.
The Hayti Police Department on March 14 received a call from the Hayti Elementary School about a girl who was possibly molested by a man.
The school completed a hotline to the Missouri Department of Family Services.
On March 16, around 9:10 p.m. the Hayti Police Department conducted a search warrant on Myers’ home. He was not found.
The victim’s father contacted police saying he received a text message from Myers they he left a key for his vehicle at “the pond outside of Hayti under a beer bottle near the county road sign.” A Hayti police officer found a key underneath a beer bottle.
Police say Myers might be traveling to his father’s house in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Rebecca L. Bailey, Myers’ mother, faces a charge of hindering prosecution. She is accused of telling Myers that the police were at his home and to go to Florida to see his father.
