Crews battle weekend house fire in Chaffee

CHAFFEE, Mo. (KBSI)- Multiple crews responded to a fire on Saturday night.

According to the Chaffee Fire Department around 7pm on Saturday October 5 they received a call that a home was on fire on the 100 block of School Street.

When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and fire which required more assistance.

The house had extreme hoarder conditions and made fire attack extremely difficult.

The fire extended through the roof which in return made overhaul very extensive and difficult.

No injuries were reported, and many pets were recovered by fire personnel.

Agencies that responded are North Scott County Ambulance, Chaffee Police, Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Scott City Fire, Delta Fire, Oran Fire, Scott County Rural, and City of Cape Girardeau Fire Department.
