Crews respond to second-alarm fire in Zeigler amid high winds

ZEIGLER, Ill., (KBSI) — Fire crews are responding to a second-alarm structure fire in the 100 block of Walnut Street in Zeigler.

The Benton Fire Department said the fire involves two structures and a camper.

A MABAS second alarm was requested due to high wind conditions and multiple spot fires reported within two blocks of the scene, caused by blowing embers.

One firefighter from another department was treated for a laceration caused by windblown glass fragments.
