CROCKER, Mo., (KBSI) — The Crocker School District was briefly placed on lockdown Thursday morning after deputies with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office pursued and arrested a wanted suspect near campus.

Sheriff Stacy L. Ball said deputies and members of Relentless Pursuit were involved in a foot chase with Ronald Brown, who had 11 outstanding out-of-county warrants. The pursuit began around 10:25 a.m. near the district, prompting officials to order a lockdown as a precaution.

Brown was apprehended at 10:31 a.m. on railroad tracks about 50 yards from the school. A school resource officer was inside the building during the incident, while deputies remained stationed outside to ensure student and staff safety.

Ball said teachers and staff acted quickly and calmly, moving children from the playground indoors without causing alarm. By 10:33 a.m., the suspect was in custody, no threats remained, and the lockdown was lifted.

The sheriff’s office commended the school district staff and deputies for their swift response in bringing the situation to a safe resolution.
