DAECO receives $75K grant from Delta Dental of Missouri
SIKESTON, Mo. (KBSI) – Project Ashley’s Smile received an oral health grant for $75,000 from Delta Dental of Missouri.
The Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation’s Project Ashley’s Smile, helps with follow-up dental treatment. The funding will assist qualifying individuals in need of affordable care.
“It gives free dental care for those in need, for dentures, for tooth extractions, just for even cleaning. Little things that they can’t afford,” said DAECO Wellness and Benefits Administrator Tiffany Minnis.
According to Minnis, Delta Dental awards funding twice a year for general operations, programs, projects, and capacity-building efforts promoting oral health to Missouri residents.
“So, it’s a win-win for everyone. The person gets seen, gets to eat, have their self esteem back and the dentist gets paid,” said Minnis.
The Grant assists qualifying residents in six counties which include Dunklin, Pemiscott, New Madrid, Scott, Mississpippi and Stoddard counties.
The funding is a part of Delta Dental’s 2023 mission giving initiatives.
