PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — McCracken County has officially launched DARCI, a new disaster preparedness and recovery platform designed to help residents and local organizations respond to emergencies more effectively.
Residents can register for free at DARCI or by downloading the DARCI app. Signing up requires only a name, email, and address, giving users quick access to real-time disaster alerts, streamlined damage reporting, and recovery resources.
Benefits of the DARCI platform include:
- Faster emergency response: Real-time reporting helps direct resources to where they’re needed most.
- Stronger community networks: The platform connects residents, first responders, and nonprofits for coordinated disaster relief.
- Data-driven decision-making: Aggregated reports help officials make informed choices and secure additional support.
Local nonprofits are also encouraged to participate to enhance coordination and resource sharing. An information session for nonprofit organizations will be held Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the McCracken County Emergency Management Office.
“We appreciate McCracken County’s leadership for taking a forward-thinking approach to protect their citizens,” said Ryan Drane, president of Blue Sky Global, the creator of DARCI. “This network will strengthen preparedness and recovery efforts across the county for years to come.”
“Partnering with DARCI will provide residents with up-to-date emergency notifications from the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Management,” said Rob Estes, Director of McCracken County Emergency Management. “It will also help us deliver resources faster when disaster strikes.”
