Deadly police shooting in Hermann, Mo.

HERMANN, Mo. (KBSI) – After a 13-hour standoff and barricading himself in a home, a suspect allegedly involved in a deadly police shooting surrendered this afternoon in Hermann, Mo.

Hermann police officer, Mason Griffith, was shot and killed Sunday night at a Casey’s General Store.

Another officer is in serious but stable condition.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kenneth Lee Simpson opened fire at the store, injuring the two officers at approximately 9:30 p.m. last night.

Sometime later, Simpson barricaded himself in a home across the street.

It is not yet known what sparked the shooting.
