Deputy Fire Chief Randy Davis retires after 42 years of service to Jackson

JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — Deputy Chief Randy Davis will retire from Jackson Fire Rescue on April 1, 2025, capping a 42-year career marked by significant growth and transformation within the department.
During his tenure, Davis witnessed the department’s full-time staff expand from 4 to 19 members, and emergency incidents increase from 50 in 1982 to 1,800 annually.
The cost of a fire truck also rose substantially, from $150,000 to $900,000.
A retirement celebration will be held at the Jackson Civic Center on April 1, 2025, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. The community is invited to attend and bid farewell to Deputy Chief Davis.
The Jackson Fire Department expressed its gratitude to Davis for his dedication to the city and its residents.
