DOE to demolish water tower in Paducah on May 31

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – Those living and working in Paducah may hear a big boom on Friday.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will demolish an about 300-foot-tall water tower at the DOE Paducah site by the controlled use of explosives.

Access to the site will be restricted to essential personnel only due to safety and security measures.

Site neighbors and emergency response organizations have been notified.
