Dog dies in Cape Girardeau house fire

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — A dog died in a house fire near North Fountain Street, according to Cape Girardeau Fire Chief Randy Morris.
Morris told FOX23 a neighbor called 911 after hearing smoke alarms and seeing smoke coming from the home.
Firefighters located the fire in the kitchen area. No residents were home at the time, Morris said.
