Dollywood to remain open following Dolly Parton’s death

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn., (KBSI) — Dollywood will remain open Wednesday as the theme park mourns the death of its founder, country music icon Dolly Parton.
In a statement, the Dollywood family said it was mourning the loss of its “beloved Dreamer-in-Chief.”
Dollywood Parks & Resorts President Eugene Naughton said helping Parton bring her vision for the park to life was the “greatest privilege” of his life.
“Dolly’s heart was as vast as the mountains she cherished, and her compassion knew no bounds,” Naughton said. “She inspired generations to dream boldly and love deeply.”
According to Dollywood, Parton wanted the park to remain a place of joy, hope and togetherness where families and friends could honor her through laughter, music and shared experiences.
The park said it will remain open Wednesday in accordance with Parton’s wishes and her belief that “the show must go on.”
Dollywood said it plans to continue carrying forward Parton’s legacy and her message of love, perseverance and hope.
