Doniphan man accused of firearms, drug trafficking in Scott City

SCOTT CITY, Mo. (KBSI) – A Doniphan man faces charges in Scott City after police say he showed a firearm while tryiing to sell illegal narcotics.
Elijah Blake Clayton, 19, of Doniphan is charged with unlawful use of a weapon (subsection 11), trafficking drugs 1st degree (subsection 12) and possession of a controlled substance.
Scott City Police Department officers responded to an initial call of a suspicious male in the afternoon on Saturday, May 6.
Officers learned the suspect revealed a firearm to a person while trying to sell illegal narcotics, according to the police department.
Officers were told the suspect was walking in a residential area.
Officers began to canvas the area and found the suspect in the area of Oak Street near Shady Grove Park.
Police found Clayton and say he was in possession of a loaded .22 caliber pistol and approximately five grams of Fentanyl.
Clayton is being held on a no bond warrant.
