Doniphan man sentenced to 14 years for failing to register as sex offender

DONIPHAN, Mo., (KBSI) — Bobby J. Scott, 49, of Doniphan, Missouri, pleaded guilty to two counts of failure to register as a sex offender and was sentenced to seven years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for each case.
Scott failed to register as a sex offender every 90 days as required and also failed to register a new address within three business days, violating Missouri law.
At the time of the offenses, Scott was on probation for a previous failure to register conviction and had an outstanding warrant for probation violations.
Scott was taken into custody on Feb. 3, 2025, by the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department.
The Ripley County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and the sheriff’s department emphasized their commitment to enforcing sex offender registration compliance under Missouri law.
