Don’t expect big changes in the kitchen

(KBSI) – The United States Department of Energy released its new energy efficiency standards for stoves and ovens.

Ninety-seven percent of gas stoves on the market currently meet those standards.

Some adjustments may be needed for electronic stoves.

All new versions of smooth-top units will use 30% less power starting in 2028.

These new standards would save American households roughly $1.5 billion over 30 years, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
