Dorena-Hickman Ferry closes due to weather conditions

HICKMAN, Ky., (KBSI) — The Dorena-Hickman Ferry has suspended operations due to inclement weather, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

The ferry, which connects KY 1354 in Hickman, Kentucky, to Missouri Route A and Route 77 near Dorena, Missouri, will resume service at an undetermined date.

Motorists can check the ferry’s Facebook page for updates on reopening.

Notably, the Dorena-Hickman Ferry serves as the sole direct route between Missouri and Kentucky, as the two states are the only bordering states without a direct road or bridge connection.
