Downed telephone line blocking road in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – A downed telephone line is blocking a road in Carbondale Thursday afternoon.

The blockage is near the intersection of S. Lewis Lane and E. Walnut Street, according to Carbondale police.

Northbound and southbound portions of S. Lewis Lane will be closed until it can be repaired.

Police say the road closure is only affecting a small portion of S. Lewis Lane just north of Auffenberg.

The road closed is expected to last for a few hours.
