Downtown Cape Girardeau filled for first Riverfront Fall Festival

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Downtown Cape Girardeau was filled with families, food, and business vendors both big and small.

It was a fun event with crafts, games, and music from live bands and storytelling performances.

Event organizer Alyssa Phares says this festival represents the season we are in.

Say festival to kick off the fall season the season of thanks and togetherness,” said Phares.

With all the foot traffic in downtown Cape, it was an opportunity for people to experience new businesses and businesses to meet new potential customers.

“Everyone is shopping with the vendors but they’re also visiting our downtown they’re going into restaurants you know some people just want a little quiet escape from the noise, so they go inside the grab a bite to eat,” said Phares.

The increased traffic is great for businesses during these economic times and the riverfront fall festival was great for everyone.

“People inside and so that has a positive economic impact on the community whenever you get people down in an area and spending money and spending together it’s a great thing,” said Phares.
