Dr. Keenan Kinder named 14th Superintendent of Jackson R-2 Schools
JACKSON, Mo. (KBSI) — Dr. Keenan Kinder walks through a wall of school memorabilia, reflecting on his lifelong connection to the Jackson R-2 School District.
A 1993 Jackson High graduate and former history teacher, Kinder is now the district’s 14th superintendent. “It’s very exciting,” he says. “Jackson has such a great reputation. We have some of the best staff in the entire state.”
Kinder says it’s an honor to serve the district he calls home. “It’s wonderful to have spent my whole life here,” he said. “The people who supported me, even when I wasn’t working here, have reached out. It really makes my heart explode.” Many former teachers and mentors have expressed their congratulations for his new role.
Looking ahead, Kinder is focused on school safety and academic growth for the Jackson School districts. “Safety is our top priority,” he says. “We want to keep improving our educational product. Our kids go places when they graduate from Jackson.”
Kinder’s message to families is one of support and teamwork. “I’m in their corner, and so is our entire staff,” he says. “We have high expectations for them when they complete school here. It’ll mean something ” he says.
