Driver injured after falling asleep, crashing in McCracken County

WEST PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — A driver was injured Wednesday evening after authorities said he fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed on Pullen Lane.
McCracken County sheriff’s deputies responded to the single-vehicle crash at about 5:10 p.m. Investigators determined Billy Stewart of West Paducah was traveling north when he fell asleep and drove onto an embankment.
Stewart was taken by Mercy Regional EMS to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered incapacitating.
The Concord Fire Department, Mercy Regional EMS and Vanzant’s Towing assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene.
