Du Quoin State Fair names Dr. Glenn Poshard Grand Marshal

DU QUOIN, Ill., (KBSI) — Dr. Glenn Poshard, a veteran of over 50 years of public service, will serve as Grand Marshal for the 2025 Du Quoin State Fair Twilight Parade, Gov. JB Pritzker announced. This year’s parade theme is “Adventure Awaits!”

Poshard’s extensive public service career includes serving as president of Southern Illinois University from 2006 to 2014, as well as roles as a state senator and congressman.

The Twilight Parade will take place on Aug. 22 at 6 p.m., starting at the south end of Grandstand Avenue and proceeding to Main Street. The 2025 Du Quoin State Fair will run from Aug. 22 to Sept. 1, with free parking and admission throughout the fair.
