Du Quoin State Fairgrounds Farmer’s Market opens June 7

DU QUOIN, Ill. (KBSI) – The Illinois Department of Agriculture’s (IDOA) Du Quoin State Fairgrounds Farmers’ Market will open for its inaugural season Tuesday, June 7 from 4-7 p.m. at “The Cattle Barns” on the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds across from the Expo Building.

The market is home to vendors who support and qualify for IDOA’s Illinois Products Program by growing, producing and packaging their own products here in Illinois.

Illinois is third in the nation for the number of farmers’ markets.

The opening will feature produce such as: tomatoes, peppers, okra, eggplant, green beans, cucumbers and much more from Rolling Acres Greenhouse and Dr. Grammy’s Garden. Leedle Houme Bees will have fresh honey, lip balms and comb honey. Bloom Ridge Farm will sell flowers, seeds, shopping bags, t-shirts, paracord bracelets and key chains. Fan Favs LLC will also offer street tacos, nachos, bagelettas and soft drinks.

The Du Quoin State Fairgrounds Farmers’ Market will be held every Tuesday through November 1. The market will be closed on August 16, 23, 30 and September 6 for the Du Quoin State Fair.
