Early morning fire damages three businesses in Marion

MARION, Ill., (KBSI) — A Monday morning fire damaged at least three businesses in a commercial complex in Marion, according to Fire Chief Tim Barnett.
Crews were dispatched around 6:20 a.m. to a structure near the intersection of North Pentecost Road and DeYoung Street. Upon arrival, firefighters observed flames coming from the roof of the building and began suppression efforts.
Multiple fire departments from across the region responded to assist.
Officials said at least three businesses sustained damage, including units occupied by Hot Heads Salon, WRF Engineers and One Stop Paint and Decorating. One of the units suffered significant damage.
No injuries were reported.
The Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office has been requested to investigate the cause of the fire.
