Education Express kickoff tour rolls into Mayfield, Graves County
GRAVES COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) – The Education Express Kickoff tour made its first stop in Mayfield and Graves County, marking the beginning of a regional initiative to support workforce development, businesses, and educational needs.
The event drew a large crowd, including community leaders, educators, scholarship-winning students, and industry partners, all celebrating the impact of education and West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC) in the region.
Mayfield Mayor Kathy O’Nan emphasized the importance of planting seeds for the future, encouraging students to stay, live, and work in Mayfield. Superintendents Billy Edwards and Matthew Madding highlighted WKCTC’s significance to their students and the broader community.
A special moment came when Dr. Anton Reece recognized students awarded scholarships from the Mayfield/Graves Tornado Relief Fund. These students will begin classes at WKCTC next fall.
The Education Express tour will continue on April 10 in Massac County, Illinois.
