Education secretary tours Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon visited the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center to learn more about its career-training programs.
McMahon and her team had lunch prepared by the center’s Culinary Arts students and Chef Yount before touring several training facilities.
The group visited the Construction Trades, Automotive Technology, Electrical Trades and Advanced Welding programs. During the tour, students and instructors demonstrated the hands-on training offered at the center.
School officials said the visit provided an opportunity to highlight the role career and technical education plays in preparing students for college and future careers.
