Eminence Fire Department to receive $1 million after fire station burned

EMINENCE, Mo. (KBSI) –  It’s been an emotional year for some in Eminence. In March, the station’s only fire station burned. That fire destroyed much of the department’s equipment.

While the loss was devastating, many fire departments from around the country stepped in to help.

The fire department was recently notified it would receive a $1 million allocation from the state.

The money will go to the construction costs of building a new firehouse and maybe more than that.

“We’d like to build an ambulance shed if they’ll go along with us, and maybe an outlying station somewhere,” said Eminence Fire Chief Jim Bay.

This money was made possible with the help of multiple state senators and representatives.
