Empowering Women Through Performance: Vintage Now 15

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI)- In preparation for Vintage Now 15, women of all ages, shapes, and sizes gather weekly to rehearse for a spectacular show.

This year’s production, “Empower: A Journey to the Future,” tells a story of resilience and hope through music, dance, and drama.

Veteran performer Olivia Walker shares her passion for the show, now in its 15th year. “The show just gets better and better every single year,” she says.

Walker’s journey with Vintage Now began at age 12, and this marks her eighth year participating.

More than just a performance, Vintage Now aims to empower women and raise funds for the Safe House, supporting survivors of abuse.

Walker’s friend, a survivor herself, finds solace in the show. “She tells me every year that she comes to the show, ‘I see what people had that I didn’t,'” Walker shares.

The bonds formed among participants are a highlight of the experience.

Katie Eggimann and her daughter Stella cherish their time performing together. “I want people to know that there’s an entire Show Me Center of people who want to support you,” Katie says.

Tamatha Crowson, fellow performer, echoes the sentiment.

“Women standing together, working together, dancing together makes a powerful statement.”

Through Vintage Now, these women demonstrate courage, creativity, and solidarity.

Join them on their empowering journey at the Show Me Center. Event Details: – Date: October 12, 2024 – Location: Show Me Center – Support the Cause: All proceeds benefit the Safe House of Southeast Missouri.
