MARION, Ill., (KBSI) — The first floor of Deaconess Illinois Medical Center was evacuated earlier Tuesday following a reported bomb threat, according to hospital officials.

Out of an abundance of caution, patients and staff were temporarily evacuated but have since been allowed to return. Families and visitors are not currently permitted on the first floor as safety protocols remain in place and law enforcement continues its investigation.

Officials said the threat is not believed to be credible at this time.

Patients with scheduled appointments will be contacted regarding the status of their care. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
