Exciting events kicking off the holiday season in Old Town Cape

CAPE GIRARDEAU Mo. (KBSI) – There are some exciting things right around the corner for Old Town Cape especially for the holidays. 

Liz Haynes is the Executive Director for Old Town Cape. Haynes is the one who plans events to make the town of Cape shine and bring families together. 

Haynes makes it her duty to plan about 50 events throughout the year to touch on every season and make Old Town Cape feel welcoming and cozy.

With Christmas right around the corner she tries to make sure the town is lit up and magical.

“We try to channel that Hallmark Christmas movie vibe in our downtown and so we have a number of different events that are taking place. We have a Christmas tree lighting event that takes place that kicks off the holiday season,” said Haynes. 

The Christmas Tree Lighting takes place the day after Thanksgiving and there will be more events in Old Town Cape leading up to it.
