FAA directive to reduce flights at Barkley Regional Airport through May

FOX23 News at 9 p.m

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Barkley Regional Airport will see a temporary reduction in flights in April and May due to a Federal Aviation Administration airworthiness directive requiring inspections of CRJ aircraft.

Airport officials said the industry-wide safety measure will reduce weekly flights from 14 to 12.

Daily service to Chicago O’Hare International Airport will continue, though arrivals will be later on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Service to Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport will operate as scheduled except on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Officials said the inspections are necessary to ensure aircraft meet federal safety standards. Full flight schedules are expected to resume in June.

Passengers are encouraged to check directly with United Airlines for the most up-to-date flight information.
