FAA, NTSB investigate aircraft incident at Southern Illinois Airport

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — An aircraft incident occurred Wednesday evening at Southern Illinois Airport, prompting an investigation by federal authorities, airport officials said.
In a statement, airport officials said the incident happened during a landing attempt on airport property. The pilot was not injured.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident. Airport officials said normal operations are continuing and there is no threat to the surrounding community.
