Families still feel safe at schools after Tennessee school shooting

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – With the tragedy of the school shooting in Tennessee, families are confident one local school is keeping students safe.

According to Education Week, there have been 13 school shooting in 2023 that resulted in death or injuries.

Grandparent Linda Crader says even with the abundance of school shootings, she feels safe dropping her granddaughter off at Notre Dame Regional High School.

“I feel like she’s safe here, but it’s just still scary to even send them out to school and out anywhere,” Crader said. “Notre Dame is a very good school and I think they have their safety all in place where it needs to be.”

Notre Dame, like others in the area, are always working to be prepared for any threats made to the school or students.
