Family escapes fire at Cape Girardeau home

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Cape Girardeau firefighters put out a house fire Monday night.

Firefighters responded to a fire at a home in the 100 block of Green Acres Drive.

Fire alarms alerted the family who lives in the home. Everyone got out of the home safely.

The cause of the fire is considered to be accidental, according to a report from the Cape Girardeau Fire Department.

Jackson Fire Rescue, Scott City Fire Department, Gordonville Fire Protection District, Fruitland Area Fire Protection District and East County Fire Protection District provided mutual aid while Cape Girardeau firefighters fought the fire.
