New Madrid crash victims identified

NEW MADRID, Mo. (KBSI) – A tragic accident took the lives of four people in New Madrid County.

Four people who were killed in a traffic crash in New Madrid have been identified.

According to New Madrid County Coroner George Delisle, 17-year-old Nevaeh L Debose born on October 25, 2007 passed away.

Debose was an 11th grader at New Madrid County R-1 School District.

In the other involved vehicle was 41-year-old Dustin Shane Colbert born on July 2, 1983. Colbert was a Sheriff’s Deputy for the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Office.

In the vehicle with Colbert were his two minor daughters ages 1 and 4 who also passed away.

According to traffic crash reports on December 17, 2024 at 4:35 pm Missouri Highway Patrol responded to a traffic crash on Route U a half mile west of New Madrid.

The crash involved two vehicles.

A 2015 Jeep with a 41-year-old male driver and two female juvenile passenger’s ages 1 and 4 and a 2004 dodge stratus driven by a 17-year-old with no passengers.

The report states the driver of the 2015 Jeep lost control of the vehicle and crossed the centerline and struck the 2004 dodge stratus.

All subjects were pronounced dead on the scene by New Madrid County Coroner George Delisle.

The 41-year-old driver was identified as an off-duty officer for New Madrid County Sheriff’s Office.
