Felony theft investigation leads to drug arrests in Marshall County

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) — Two Benton residents were arrested after deputies investigating a felony theft case allegedly discovered drugs, a firearm and drug paraphernalia at a Marshall County home.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, deputies went to a residence on Oak Level Road around 7:47 p.m. July 10 to conduct a follow-up investigation into an ongoing felony theft case.
While at the home, deputies made contact with 48-year-old Erskin Estes and 41-year-old Chasity Spears. Investigators said they seized suspected methamphetamine, suspected Schedule II narcotics, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a handgun.
Estes was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center and is charged with:
- First-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), third or subsequent offense, a Class D felony
- First-degree possession of a controlled substance (unspecified drug), first offense, a Class D felony
- Possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor
Spears was also lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center and is charged with:
- First-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), firearm enhanced, first offense, a Class D felony
- Possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor
- Possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor
The investigation remains ongoing.
