SIKESTON, Mo. (KBSI) – FEMA disaster assistance employees will begin going door to door in Sikeston and surrounding communities Friday and will continue for the next several weeks to help people get registered for disaster assistance related to the May 26 tornado.

Residents are told to feel free to ask them to see credentials so you know they are legitimate FEMA representatives.

Residents may also call 1-800-621-3362 or visit disasterassistance.gov to register for help if they are uncomfortable talking to someone in person.

An EF-2 tornado tore through Sikeston and an EF-3 tornado went through Morehouse.
