Fentanyl found during a traffic stop in Illinois

METROPOLIS, Ill. (KBSI) – On June 11, 2024, an officer with the Metropolis Police Department clocked a vehicle going 89 MPH in a 70 MPH zone on I-24.

After a traffic stop the officer found the vehicle had suspended license plates.

The driver Makala A. Harris age 22 was arrested.

After a search officers found Harris to be in possession of Clonazepam and Fentanyl.

Harris faces charges of speeding, operation of a motor vehicle with suspended registration and possession of a controlled substance x2.

She was taken to the Massac County Jail.
